Three Options

Choose Your Support Level

The Government of Montserrat provides three forms of financial assistance: full scholarships, partial scholarships, and bursaries.

Full Scholarship

Covers major expenses including tuition, travel, accommodation, meals, personal expenses, and learning materials for individuals pursuing long-term development.

Tuition Travel Accommodation Meals Materials Bonding

Partial Scholarship

Targeted support designed to encourage shared responsibility. We can support your tuition or costs such as accommodation, meals, transportation, or learning materials.

Up to $39,000 Targeted support Bonding

Bursary

Single, non-recurring grant for limited educational needs including tuition for one semester/year, short courses, or learning materials.

One-off Up to $15,000 Service commitment

Simple Process

How to Apply

Eligibility and selection are merit-based and aligned to national priority areas / critical skills gaps.

Check Eligibility

You must be a Montserrat citizen or permanent resident, enrolled in or accepted into an accredited programme, demonstrate financial need and commitment to contributing to Montserrat's development, and pursue a course aligned with priority areas or critical skills gaps.

Gather Documents

Prepare your identification, enrolment/acceptance evidence, academic history, financial information, and references (see checklist below).

Submit Online

Complete the online application within the published window. For partial scholarships and bursaries, applicants are expected to actively seek other funding sources (Government is a partner).

Use this checklist before you start. Missing information can delay review — and bonding requirements depend on award type.

Eligibility & Status

  • Proof of Montserrat citizenship or permanent residency
  • Two forms of valid ID (e.g., passport, driver's licence, social security card, national ID)
  • Statement of commitment to contributing to Montserrat's development

Programme & Academic

  • Letter of acceptance or proof of enrolment (accredited programme)
  • Admission evidence by status: offer letter, proof of application, or continuing-student proof
  • Proof of costs for continuing students (tuition/accommodation/maintenance evidence)
  • Academic credentials (certificates/diplomas/degrees)
  • Transcripts / recent grades or progress report (unless awaiting exam results)
  • Programme relevance statement (priority areas / skills gaps)

Financial Information

  • Income information (for needs assessment)
  • Number of financial dependents
  • Full cost breakdown (tuition, accommodation, maintenance, other)
  • Amount requested (partial scholarship and bursary only)
  • Disclosure of other scholarships, grants, or financial aid received
  • Plan for additional funding (especially for partial scholarships & bursaries)

References & Commitments

  • Letters of recommendation (academic and/or professional/character)
  • Two guarantors: name, occupation, address, and telephone number for each
  • Job letter / proof of employment (partial scholarship and bursary applicants)
  • Willingness to enter a bonding agreement or service commitment
  • Required declarations and declaration date
  • Understand award conditions attached to your selected assistance type
